LEADERS ACADEMY (LYLA)

LYLA is an initiative set to groom the next generation of African leaders in leadership, administration and entrepreneurship fields. This initiative is set to offer innovative, change making training for high school students in Africa.

The overall program entails a combination of taught content as well practical leadership engagement.

The young leaders will be taken through diverse course model designed to prepare them for leadership and expose them to things happening in the global space. They will be exposed to the following.

  • Leadership Model: This model is designed to build skills and empower the young leaders to lead in their communities. They learn through interactive class session, group assignment, games that teaches team building etc
  • Administrative Model: This is designed to build the student in different activities of government, public bodies and think tanks. They get to visit government agencies, think tanks, civil societies that are into policy making to interact with people there on policy making and leadership.
  • Entrepreneurship Model: This is designed to expose the students to business approaches, sustainable ways of growing a business venture.
  • Model African Union: The students are exposed to the conduct of the general assembly of United Nations and they are taught to model it.

Raising African's Next Leaders

LYLA Cohort 2 focused on children from the inner city slums of Ibadan with its venue at Local Government Building, Mapo Hall. The cohort ran for 3 weeks and in attendance were 50 students.

Africa Rising

Learning Young Leaders Cohort 3, commenced on Monday August 2, 2021 in Ibadan-North Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

The academy enrolled 22 students across three Government Owned Schools in Ibadan-North Local Government on a three weeks immersive training.
